Purple Skirt
This skirt looks really bad in this photo especially since it was taken after hours of wear. But I received a few of compliments on this - possibly because the fabric looks quite luxe in real life.

Again, the 0.6 meter fabric is from Lincraft's remnant pile. I wanted to make the Marie skirt from BurdaStyle, but the fabric wasn't wide enough. I cut the fabric to make the Sew Everything Workshop pencil skirt. At the last minute I decided I decided to turn it upside down, and add smaller pleats instead of darts. I didn't need to add a slit, as the fabric was stretchy enough. Stretchy enough that finishing the waistband kept adding to the width of the fabric. I had to add a couple of extra pleats at the back.

Not having enough fabric also meant I just folded it at the top and used cotton tape (?) to secure it and make sure it doesn't stretch out too much. I read this technique in passing some time ago on Australian Stitches magazine, but I didn't bother to re-read the instructions. As usual, I winged it. I just wanted to finish this thing, which was too loose, didn't have a waistband and unhemmed – a project that sat in my sewing cabinet for weeks!

All in all, it's ok to wear as long as the waistband is hidden by an untucked top. The compliments sealed its fate as a keeper.
